The Edmund Fitzgerald was a freighter on the Great Lakes. While it may have been well-known to folks involved in the shipping trade, it wasn’t until it sank and became the subject of Gordon Lightfoot’s “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald” that it became known throughout the country. Write a little Flashy Fiction in which you take a not-so-well-known event and make a slightly fictionalized version of it to bring attention to the event.
