Create your own Krampus…or not

Krampus.  A figure that (potentially) strikes fear into the hearts of little children in the German-Austrian Alps.  A character used in conjunction with Saint Nicholas to get children to behave., but where Santa rewards the good children, Krampus punishes the bad ones.  I recently saw  post on Facebook that shared a number of Christmastime legends from around the world.  Interestingly, most of them were more in the fear-inducing vein of Krampus rather than the rewarding aspect of Santa Claus.  Write a little Flashy Fiction in which your create your own Christmastime legend.  Maybe yours rewards.  Maybe it punishes.  Maybe it does both.  Maybe it rewards or punishes whole towns.  It could swoop in and steal all the decorations and presents (like the Grinch), or vandalize and destroy.  Or, maybe, it swoops in and heals the infirm, fills coffers, and brings joy.  You decide…it’s your legend, after all.
