Heroes and Legends

photo of Walter Payton

Today’s photo lyric is from “Big Time Operator” by Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.  For your writing prompt today, pair that photo lyric with this quote from Walter Payton in his autobiography, Never Die Easy:  “Never die easy. Why run out of bounds and die easy? Make that linebacker pay. It carries into all facets of your life. It’s okay to lose, to die, but don’t die without trying, without giving it your best.”  Write a little Flashy Fiction inspired by the photo lyric and/or quote.  Maybe your story is about a legend teaching his kid or a team he’s coaching about how to give your everything in what you’re doing, not just in sports.  Maybe the story is about someone trying to convince a friend or loved one to not give in to a disease or depression, or maybe it’s the person fighting through it trying to explain why they continue to struggle through it.

Write something and share it!
